Problems Accessing Members Area

Accessing the Members Area uses a small piece of Javascript code which some browsers might block if the security settings are set too high. This problem has been most recently reported by members who have upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 which defaults to quite a high security level. If you are using an earlier version of Internet Explorer and are also experiencing problems then follow the same solution below for Internet Explorer 7.

There have been no reported problems from people using Mozilla, but if you use Mozilla or Firefox and have also been experiencing problems follow the solution below for Firefox Users.

If these solutions do not work for you and you are still experiencing problems please contact us and let us know what your issue is including what operating system you're using (e.g. Windows 2000/XP/Vista, MacOS), what browser you're using (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox) and the version (found by clocking the Help menu and selecing About).

Solution for Internet Explorer Users

  1. Go to the Tools menu.
  2. Choose Internet Options
  3. A dialogue box like the one illustrated to the right will pop up with several tabs at the top. Choose Security.
  4. Select Internet (you'll see the globe picture)
  5. Below it will appear an indicator of the security level for this zone. Resting the cursur on it and holding down the left button of the mouse, drag it to the lowest (medium).
  6. Click OK
  7. Return to the Members Area and try again. If you are already there you may need to refresh the page. Press F5 to reload the page.

This will allow Javascripts to run and you can access the members area. If you are concerned about security while on other websites you may return your security level to whatever you are happy with by following the above steps again.

Alternative, you may also click on Custom Level to tailor the security settings to your own needs, allowing Javascript whilst keeping other areas high.

While there have been no reported issues from Firefox users it is possible if you use Firefox for you to experience the same problems if your settings have been changed to disable Javascript. If this is the case then follow the below steps.

  3. A dialogue box like the one illustrated to the right will pop up with several tabs at the top. Choose Content (you'll see the globe picture)
  4. Check the box to Enable JavaScript
  5. Click OK
  6. Return to the Members Area and try again. If you are already there you may need to refresh the page. Press F5 to reload the page.
