Jung Rachael Steel gained her BA in Fine Art at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, and her MA in Jung and Post-Jungian Studies at the University Essex where she is currently working towards a Ph.D. She is also a practising artist. Her seminar will draw on both her doctoral and masters research into Jung and art. November 15th 6-8pm Queen Anne A020 Julie Waddington: 'There's not a drug on Earth that can Make Life Meaningful': Sarah Kane, Jung, and the inadequacies of Suicidology Julie Waddington is associate lecturer in English at Manchester Metropolitan University where she is also completing her PhD which attempts to forge links between critical theory and contemporary drama. Her article "Posthumanist Identities in Sarah Kane" will be published in the first collection of evaluative essays on the British playwright. She has also contributed articles on the plays of Kane to the Literary Encyclopedia Website which are freely accessible on: www.litencyc.com. One of these articles introduces Kane's last and most experimental play - 4.48 Psychosis - which will be the subject of her paper for the Jung Research Forum. This paper will bring together the work of Kane and Jung in an attempt to articulate questions around psychosis. |
