INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR UNPUBLISHED RESEARCH PAPERS
ON THE PSYCHOLOGY OF C.G. JUNG
1. THE AWARD
1.1 The "C. G. Jung International Contest," established
by the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP)
and the International Association for Jungian Studies (IAJS),
is a contest for unpublished research papers about themes related
to Analytical Psychology/Jungian Studies, with the purpose of
encouraging and inspiring the production of work that may contribute
to the advancement of Analytical Psychology/Jungian Studies and
their application to various areas of scholarship.
1.2 Graduate students of any University and candidates in the
IAAP Member Societies may participate.
1.3 The award, to be given in 2005, will be granted to the authors
of the best four research papers as follows:
1st. prize: 1000 Swiss Francs
2nd prize: 800 Swiss Francs
3rd. prize: 350 Swiss Francs
4th prize: 350 Swiss Francs.
1.4 The research paper may be co-authored.
1.5 Contestants may submit more than one research paper, as long
as all submissions are in accordance with the specifications in
items 3.1 and 3.2.
1.6 If a winning research paper is co-authored, the award will
be given to the author whose name appears first in the identification
form referred to in item 2.1 or it will be divided.
2. SUBMISSIONS
2.1 The research papers must be postmarked by February 28, 2005
and sent to:

CEP 05007. Brazil
2.2 For purposes of identification, authors should submit a sealed
envelope containing the original research paper, the complete
identification of the author(s) including full name, address,
and title of the research paper, a pseudonym under which the paper
will submitted to the panel of judges, and a short curriculum
vitae.
3. FORM
3.1 The paper must be an original research paper and offered
in English, using appropriate and correct style and grammar. It
must be a minimum of 5 (five) and a maximum of 20 (twenty) pages
in length. Five hard copies must be submitted, along with a copy
on a 3.5" floppy disk. Research papers should be double-spaced
on one side only of normal sized paper using the 12 Times New
Roman font, and numbered with the author identified by pseudonym.
3.2 References must be included.
4. THE PANEL OF JUDGES
4.1 The Panel of Judges will be composed of 5 (five) persons,
2 (two) members of IAAP and 2 (two) members of IAJS and a chair.
4.2 The chair of the Program Committee will provide the necessary
technical-administrative support.
4.3 The Panel's decisions shall be final.
4.4 By May1st, 2005, each member of the Panel will submit to
the Chair an evaluation of the research papers with a vote on
the four prizes.
4.5 The Chair of the Judging Committee shall make the final decision
with regard to the prizes, following the votes of the Panel members.
4.6 The Panel will be dissolved upon the conclusion of its tasks.
5. EVALUATION
5.1 The research papers will be judged according to the "Research
Evaluation Criteria". (Attachment)
5.2 The preliminary evaluation will consider the following items:
a) Pertinence: the relevance of the research paper to the proposed
theme
b) Merit evaluation: according to research paper evaluation
norms.
5.3 Each research paper's final grade will be obtained through
a simple arithmetic average of the grades given by the Panel of
Judges.
6. GENERAL PROVISIONS
6.1 The identification of the author(s) of the winning research
papers, as well as the announcement of the winner(s), will take
place during the closing session of the II Academic Conference.
6.2 The prizes will be awarded during the ceremony
6.3 Participation in this contest implies the acceptance of all
regulations. Non-compliance with any of these regulations will
result in disqualification.
6.4 The Chair will decide individual cases not contemplated by
the present regulations.
6.5 Materials that have been submitted will not be returned to
the authors.
