Academic Approaches to the Relationship between Analytical
Psychology and Current World Events
This workshop will create a forum to examine the phenomenon of
this upsurge of interest in this relationship. It will not be a
place to voice claims about this relationship but to identify the
imaginings behind such claims and to address the methodology that
can make such claims be of academic merit.
Renos Papadopoulos, Ph.D., is professor at the
University of Essex, Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Tavistock
Clinic, training and supervising Jungian psychoanalyst, and systemic
family psychotherapist. As consultant to the United Nations and
other organisations he has worked with refugees and other survivors
of political violence in many countries. He is the founder and director
of the Masters and PhD programmes in Refugee Care that are offered
jointly by the University of Essex and the Tavistock Clinic.
